Graduating from Governor Livingston High School with a 4.3 GPA, I am excited to announce that I will be pursuing Musical Theatre at the Institute for American Musical Theatre (aka: IAMT).
Sophia Lynn's 1st dance recital
(5 years old)
As a young child, I was incredibly shy, so nervous that I did not allow myself to take dance class, always hesitant and uncomfortable in front of people. My mother saw “something in me”, especially when attending my first show at 4 years old. As an audience member, I started singing (at full volume) to the overture of Annie. I was quickly told that the people on stage would be singing, not audience members.
Fast forward a few years, and my activity of choice became dance and musical theatre. During my upper Elementary and Middle School years, I was at the studio 6-8 hours a week, truly loving all of my classes, and began private voice lessons in 7th Grade.
In 8th Grade, I started to audition at local Community Theatres, and it became more than clear that the Performing Arts was more than a fun activity - it is was part of me.
Many people don’t know what they truly want to do with their futures, and I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunities not only to begin my training at a young age, finding my passion, but also to have my family’s support to pursue performance as a career.
I will be attending the Institute of American Musical Theatre (IAMT), graduating with the class of 2026!
